ataxia
- Ataxia describes a lack of ability to move the muscles in a co-ordinated fashion. People with ataxia have irregular or awkward movements.
Babinski reflex
- A Babinski reflex is a body response that may be tested during a physical examination. This reflex, or involuntary type of response, is normal in small children, but not normal for those over 2 years old.
biological response modifiers
- Biological response modifiers (BRMs) are substances that help to fight infections. Many of these substances can be found naturally in small amounts in the body. BRMs are produced in the laboratory in larger amounts and then injected into the body to treat cancer. Sometimes the BRMs are combined with chemotherapy drugs. This helps to improve the effect of the chemotherapy. However, BRMs are not effective against most cancers.
dizziness
- Dizziness is a term that is used to describe a wide range of symptoms. These include lightheadedness, faintness, confusion, spinning, and feeling giddy or unsteady.
electromyography
- Electromyography (EMG) is used to test the electrical activity of a skeletal muscle.
